Compare German Insurance and Loans in English
Compare in English, save in Germany. Your free comparison portal for insurance, loans, electricity and gas.
No German required. The calculators come from our partners CHECK24 and Tarifcheck, so you see the same German market a German-language site would show you, with the questions explained in English.
Using CheckAlle.de costs you nothing. Our partners pay us a commission when a contract is signed through one of the calculators. Your price does not change because of that.
Key Takeaways
- Comparing costs you nothing. Our partners CHECK24 and Tarifcheck pay us a commission when a contract is signed through one of their calculators.
- A calculator shows the providers its operator works with. That is not the whole German market, and no comparison site covers all of it.
- Germany's consumer advice centres recommend using comparison portals critically and checking directly with the provider as well. We think that is fair advice.
- Car insurance and loans run right here on this page. Electricity, gas, DSL and health insurance are one click below.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about comparing in Germany
Can I compare German insurance in English?
Yes. CheckAlle.de puts the German comparison calculators of CHECK24 and Tarifcheck on an English page and explains the German terms as you go. You do not need to speak German to get a quote.
Is this comparison service really free?
There is no fee for you. We are paid a commission by our partners when a contract is signed through one of their calculators. Which tariffs appear in a calculator, and in what order, is decided by the partner running it, not by CheckAlle.de.
Are comparison portals objective?
No. Germany's Verbraucherzentrale, the consumer advice organisation, puts it plainly: comparison portals are not objective, but they can still be useful. It also notes that some rankings are not neutral and can depend on commission payments or business relationships. That applies to CheckAlle.de like any other portal. So the honest advice is to treat a comparison as a starting point and check with the provider directly as well.

Do I see every provider on the market here?
No. A calculator shows the providers its operator works with, not the whole market. The Verbraucherzentrale states explicitly that comparison portals do not cover every provider. The Bundeskartellamt, Germany's competition authority, reviewed the sector in 2019. If you want certainty, compare on more than one site and ask providers directly.

What insurance do I need as an expat in Germany?
Health insurance (German: Krankenversicherung) is mandatory. Car insurance (German: KFZ-Versicherung) is required if you own a car. Liability insurance (German: Haftpflichtversicherung) is strongly recommended. You can compare all of these here.
How do I switch electricity providers in Germany?
Enter your postcode and annual consumption in the calculator. It lists the tariffs available in your area with the yearly total. Pick a provider and they handle the switch with your old supplier, including the cancellation.
Can foreigners get a loan in Germany?
Yes. Most German banks ask for a valid residence permit, a German bank account and proof of income, and many also look at your Schufa score. You can run a non-binding pre-check through the loan calculator on this page.
Is my data safe on CheckAlle.de?
The connection to this site is SSL encrypted and we work under the GDPR. Once you start a calculator, the partner running it processes your entries under its own privacy policy.
How we work, and how we get paid
CheckAlle.de is not an insurer, a bank or an energy supplier. We run a website that embeds the comparison calculators of our partners CHECK24 and Tarifcheck, and we explain in English, German and Turkish what the German contracts actually mean. Which providers appear in a calculator, and how they are sorted, is decided by the partner operating it.
So a single comparison is a good starting point, not a picture of the whole market. Germany's consumer advice centres put it plainly: comparison portals are not objective, some rankings are not neutral, and you should also check with the provider directly. We would rather write that down than hide it.
These are the sources we read ourselves:
- Verbraucherzentrale: using comparison portals properly (German) — what to look for in transparency notes and sorting.
- Bundeskartellamt: sector inquiry into comparison portals (German) — the federal competition authority's final report of 11 April 2019.
- Stiftung Warentest: electricity and gas comparison portals (German) — worth reading before you trust any single calculator.
